The project I worked on for the last 16 months won the second price at the Constantinus Gala in Salzburg on Thursday. The project named BALI is a replacement for a sales software based on mainframe infrastructure grown over twenty years. Our customer the Quelle AG already uses it to process all orders made by telefon, fax, email, postcard and over their web site. You can read the press report made by my company here.

You can see some more pictured of the gala night on my flickr photo stream.

I have been to Croatia the last four days - but I was not really “offline” because a friend of mine took his laptop with a datacard to the camping place and my BlackBerry was there too

and no new post. There was nothing interesting on the web that gave me the urge to blog about it …
BlackBerry Curve release in Austria should be near. I checked the T-Mobile site every day but no information about it until now - only the press release.
I am currently working on some interesting things, maybe I’ll write about them when they are ready.
Feels a bit like “Sommerloch” - it is hot in the city

I took a picture of Andreas Daniel dealing at the final table of the Upper Austrian Poker championship. He acted as dealer in the latest James Bond movie Casino Royale with Daniel Craig. Too bad that I did not qualify for the final table

Yesterday I was at the Austrian Pokertour07 in the Intersport Arena Linz. It was the first time that I visited such a tournament. I played some Sit’n'Go’s and learned a lot
There were three multi table tournament satellites for the main event on Saturday - I have not time on Saturday to play the main event otherwise I would have tried to qualify. As you can see on the picture below there are a lot of free table but I think in the next days there will be a bit more action:

I could not resist to ask Gabi Sanejstra for a picture. You might know her from “TV Total Pokernacht” where she deals for Stefan Raab and his guests:

Man, it seems like today is not a good day for electronics. It started in the morning when there was a blackout of the whole block I am living in. After about half an hour the power was back again - but only in parts of my flat. Kitchen and bath is working but not living room, bedroom and office. This means my email server and internet connection is down
Additionally the server where I am hosting this blog was down for an upgrade. It was planned from midnight until 9:00 am but it took until 2:00 pm to start again. This is particularly bad because I am listed on day 3 of the group writing project and I think I missed a lot of traffic.
I hope thinks will get back to normal soon.

I do not know how many times I had to search for the right icon for one of my application - lifehacker today posted a great site for finding one - iconfinder.net
Too bad that this site seems to be down because of all the traffic it got today (or has it been hacked?)

I like to put my PC into sleep mode if I leave for just some hours. This allows me to continue working where I have been and to skip the boot sequence. Since about two months my PC is already running again when I come back and showing me the message above. I guessed it has to be a problem when going from standby to hibernate because I configured Windows XP to hibernate after 4 hours standby.
A search proofed my suspicion and I found a solution here. I downloaded and installed the patch and since that the error did not occur anymore.

Scoble makes a mystery out of what a big company will announce today. “Developers, developers, developers” lets me think first of Microsoft. Which other “multi billion dollar company” could it be?
UPDATE: It is out now - Adobe opensources flex
