Unlock BlackBerry vendor themes

5 Sep 2007In the distributed BlackBerry OS are many different themes from different vendors included (T-Mobile, Vodafone, …). When sold only the theme of your vendor and some standard BlackBerry themes are unlocked.
In my case this was the T-Mobile theme with its pinkish elements. I did not like it so I decided to unlock some other themes. This is done by editing the BlackBerry.alx file included in every OS update. This how to describes what you have to do and has some preview images of the other themes.
I selected the T-Mobile Zen – not T-Mobile Austria but the international one, which is the same in blue:
